Fire Rated Series added to SL Range

November 4, 2020

Fastmount has strengthened its Stratlock® Range with the new Fire-Rated Series, made with materials compliant with interior fire-rating requirements on superyachts.

The Stratlock Range was developed as a heavy-duty hidden panel mounting solution for installing large interior panels onto aluminium extrusion framework. A purpose-built system, the Stratlock Range is the only product on the market that provides versatility in modular design and adjustable panel installation, thanks to its patent-pending dual locking function.

The screw-fix male (SL-M18-FR) features a double-detent shank which locks into the teeth of the rapid-fit female (SL-FA-FR or SL-SFA-FR) in the aluminium frame. Upon the first click, the panel is supported, with a 4mm adjustable tolerance in any direction to find the correct panel position. The second click then locks the panel into position, secured with an 18kg pull out load per clip set, making the system ideal for heavy decorative panels.

The Fire Rated Series maintains the patented design of the three female clips and one male clip, but is manufactured with materials which conform to UL-94, an internationally recognized standard for fire-rated materials. All clips in the Fire Rated Series are V-0 rated, the highest rating available for fire-rated materials.

The Series provides a solution for two trends – increased superyacht size requiring the use of fire-retardant materials, and the requirement for streamlined interior construction processes, with the introduction of aluminium framework as the substrate for panels.

For a completely fire-retardant interior panel installation, installers can mount either the SL-FA-FR or SL-SFA-FR into aluminium extrusion framework, and simply screw fix the SL-M18-FR to the back of the fire-retardant panel to provide flexible installation, robust pull out load and easy panel removability.

Clips available in the Stratlock Range Fire Rated Series are the female SL-FA-FR, SL-SFA-FR, SL-FB-FR and the male SL-M18-FR, and all Underwriter Laboratory fire-rating tests are available on the Fastmount website. The series is available now from Authorised Distributors worldwide.
