Kidwell Fabrications, a boutique studio in Maine, USA, is renowned for its high-end upholstered furniture, driven by a philosophy of uncompromising craftsmanship, refined aesthetics, and innovative design. In their pursuit of perfection, Kidwell sought a mounting solution that would complement the sleek, minimalist design of their recent creation — the Garner Sofa.
The Garner Sofa demanded a panel mounting system that was not only discreet but also practical. Traditional fixings presented several issues:
- Visible hardware that disrupted the clean lines of the design
- Complex installation process
- Difficult disassembly, complicating maintenance and re-upholstery
Kidwell needed a solution that would ensure flawless alignment, ease of use, and uphold the sofa’s sophisticated appearance, and the Very Low Profile Range offered the answer. Designed for applications where space and aesthetics are critical, the VL-F3 and VL-M3 clips enabled Kidwell to achieve a seamless finish without compromising on functionality.
Fastmount and Kidwell Fabrications: A Growing Collaboration
The incorporation of the VL clips into the Garner Sofa marked the beginning of a new collaboration between Fastmount and Kidwell – we have since collaborated on two bespoke pieces for Interzum 2025, held in Cologne, Germany from 20-23 May. Interzum is one of the world’s leading trade fairs for furniture production and interior design, the perfect arena to showcase the VL clips integration with Kidwell’s creations.
