The launch of Fastmount’s VL-PF3 Female Recessed Mount Acoustic Clip marks more than just a new product—it’s the result of a collaborative effort to solve a real-world challenge identified in the Australian interiors market.

Nathan Robertson, founder of Connect Acoustics, saw a critical gap in how PET acoustic panels were being installed. Despite being made from recycled plastic bottles and technically recyclable, most panels were glued directly to walls and ceilings—making them impossible to recycle at the end of their life. This undermined the environmental benefits of PET panels and created unnecessary waste.
Driven by a desire to close this loop, Nathan envisioned a mechanical fixing system that would allow panels to be removed, reused, or recycled without damage. Recognizing the potential of this idea, he partnered with Fastmount, whose engineering expertise and commitment to sustainable innovation helped transform the concept into a scalable solution.
Together, Fastmount and Nathan developed the VL-PF3 clip system, designed specifically for PET acoustic panels. The clip enables glue-free installation, preserving the recyclability of panels and supporting circular design practices. It’s simple to use, repeatable at scale, and ideal for commercial, hospitality, healthcare, and educational environments.
Combining local market insight with world-class engineering, Fastmount and Connect Acoustics have created a product that not only improves installation practices but also advances sustainability in interior design.
The VL-PF3 has already been recognized for its innovate approach to acoustic panel mounting, receiving a special mention at the prestigious DAME Design Awards in 2025.
